Trump arrives in Manhattan for deposition of NY Attorney General

April 13 (Reuters) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Manhattan to testify before New York Attorney General Letitia James, he said in a post on his social media site Truth Social on Thursday.

James Filed A civil suit for fraud was filed last September in New York state court in Manhattan against Trump and his three adult children. Trump also sued James after he filed that lawsuit.

In March, Trump had asked the court to delay the case by six months, saying an extension would give him the time needed to review “shocking” material, including millions of pages of documents, and to question dozens of witnesses. .

Trump, who is seeking re-election in 2024, was indicted earlier this month by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office.

He was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records over allegations he paid two women to suppress publication of sexual encounters with him before the 2016 election.
